( Srilankamirror ) - The UPFA-run Embilipitiya Pradeshiya Sabha failed to pass its budget for 2012 at a vote today (Dec. 21). At the vote, the budget proposals received three votes in support and four votes against. The deputy chairman and a UPFA member joined the two opposition members in defeating the budget. At a vote on the second reading yesterday (.Dec 27), the budget was defeated four votes to three. The JHU’s Ven. Wewelduwe Gnanaprabha Thera, who is the chairman, and two UPFA members supported the budget. The deputy chairman and another UPFA member voted with the two members in the opposition to defeat the budget. At a vote on the first reading on December 21, the budget was defeated for the first time.
